Leveraging Tech to Track and Manage Roll Call Votes

Gerardo Reyes is the founder of eRollCall, a collaboration platform that enables transparent & efficient management of roll call votes at state legislatures, and the U.S. Congress.

After receiving his undergraduate degree from Loyola University of Chicago and his law degree from IIT-Kent College of Law, Reyes began a successful legal career as a litigator in the Office of the Corporation Counsel - City of Chicago. He then went on to serve the Mayor in several appointments to key operational departments including the Department of Aviation, the Department of Transportation and the Department of Water. In 1993, Reyes was appointed to the Mayor’s Office of Intergovernmental Affairs where he honed his lobbying efforts as the sole appropriations lobbyist for all city departments and sister agencies. In that capacity he monitored revenue levels for each successive state fiscal year, ensured maintenance of current grant funding levels, and lobbied for additional revenue funding pursuant to the Mayor's fiscal policies. In 1997 he was appointed chief lobbyist for the office of the State’s Attorney – Cook County. Reyes developed legislative lobbying platform and strategy for the executive administration, and served as the legislative adviser to State's Attorney Richard A. Devine in issues pertaining to criminal and civil laws, including complex criminal and appellate litigation, consumer protection, utilities regulation, environmental laws, child support enforcement, labor laws and municipal taxation. In 2001, Reyes helped form the lobbying firm of Joyce, Reyes & Williams, LLC, and, later, re-organized as Reyes, Williams & Associates, LLC. Presently, the firm operates as a sole legal practice under the Law Office of Gerardo Reyes. It currently represents both legislatively and legally numerous private and governmental clients in state and local levels.
