From Congressional Staffer to Tech Entrepreneur

This week we speak with Melissa Dargan, a former Congressional House staffer turned tech entrepreneur. She is the Co-founder of TourTrackr.com (product of Appmy, LLC), a platform that digitizes the tour management process for Members of Congress. During quarantine, Melissa also created Congre$$: A Personal Finance YouTube Series for Congressional Staff interested in money tips.

She started her political career working in Congress for Rep. Ed Royce and the House Foreign Affairs Committee. After almost 5 years on Capitol Hill, Melissa left government and was part of a two-person team that launched the Congressional App Challenge (CAC). This nationwide initiative engages 300+ Members of Congress in technology and inspires students to learn Computer Science.

Fun facts: Melissa does not drink coffee (she's just naturally energetic). When she is not talking politics, money or technology, Melissa enjoys trying new things. She earned an MBA from Yale School of Management (where she met Garrett, her significant other) and completed her B.A. in Political Science and B.S. in Business Administration at UC Berkeley - GO BEARS!
